Videberg Kraft will combine the best of Swedish industry with nuclear knowledge to successfully develop and deliver 1500 MW at Värö

Videberg Kraft aims to meet the rapidly growing demand for stable, fossil-free and competitively priced electricity as society and industry undergoes large-scale electrification and requirements for a robust power system increase. The ambition is for the first modular nuclear reactor to be in operation in the mid-2030s. The project has the potential to become one of the largest industrial projects in Sweden’s history, involving thousands of people in construction, installation and commissioning.

Our owners

Videberg Kraft is owned by Vattenfall AB and Industrikraft i Sverige AB, with the Swedish state expected to become an owner in the longer term. Together, the owners combine Swedish industrial expertise, nuclear know-how and long-term ownership to strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness and secure a reliable fossil free electricity supply for generations to come.

Vattenfall is a leading European energy company, which for more than 100 years has electrified industries, supplied energy to people’s homes and modernised people’s way of living through innovation and collaboration. Industrikraft i Sverige AB was established in June 2024 to be actively involved in the development of the Swedish energy system and to enable new nuclear power in Sweden for the first time in more than 40 years. Industrikraft is a consortium of nine Swedish industrial companies – ABB, Alfa Laval, Boliden, Hitachi Energy, Höganäs AB, Saab, Stora Enso, SSAB and the Volvo Group.
